Police said a homeowner scared off a man with a loaded gun, then followed him until he was taken into custody by police.

Anthony Reviere said he was at his residence on Tomahawk Trail when he saw three men walking toward his home. He said he heard what sounded like a gun being cocked, then he saw a man swinging a black handgun.

He said he hollered at his girlfriend and his children who were getting out of a car. He said that startled the group that was approaching, and they left in a silver Ford Taurus.

Mr. Reviere said he got in his vehicle and began following the Taurus while alerting police. He stayed behind the vehicle as far as the corner of Brainerd and North Moore Road.

Officers stopped the Taurus at the Krystal on Brainerd Road.

Cramell Oattes was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and aggravated assault after a loaded Glock G37 handgun was found in the trunk of the Taurus. It had six rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.

Jennifer Fester of N. Hickory Street said she arrived home and found there had been a break-in. A back window had been pried open.

Items taken included two digital cameras, a DVD player, an IPOD and a heart-rate monitor.

A witness identified one of four suspects in the burglary.

Police went to the home of Zach Jones at 218 N. Hickory. Officers said he confessed and was taken to jail.

He said those who took part in the burglary with him were "JJ, Little Man and Demarcus."

Hector Pacheco of Bonny Oaks Drive said he saw a black male in the driver's seat of his 1995 Honda Accord. He said another black male was at the rear of his vehicle.

He yelled at the pair, and they ran through a parking lot to a chain link fence and climbed over it.

He found that a window was broken out of the vehicle and his $600 car stereo was missing.

Steve Ray said two E-Z Go golf carts have been stolen from his Midnite Oil station at the Ooltewah exit of I-75.

They are valued at $2,480 each.

Mary Jones parked at Eastgate Mall and later found that her car sounded real loud.

Her catalytic converter had been removed.

A man who parked at Memorial Hospital found metal shavings by his vehicle. He learned he had $300 in damage to his exhaust system on his Toyota 4-Runner.

A tan Chevy pickup with Alabama tags was seen near the 4-Runner. A white male and white female were in the pickup.

Dianne Sewell of Glenwood Drive said her car also sounded a lot louder than usual.

Her catalytic converter was also taken at a cost to her of $300.

At Fusion Tanning Studio on Highway 153, police were told a woman was unresponsive an hour and a half after the machine had cut off.

Police were told that Savannah Roberts was breathing, but was unresponsive.

An officer, after several attempts, was able to waken Ms. Roberts. She said she had fallen asleep and was fine.
