No injuries were reported in connection with a duplex fire early Wednesday morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 4:26 a.m. and responded to 1010 Park Avenue with several fire companies. Flames were pouring out a second story window when the first firefighters arrived. Both apartment units were unoccupied.
The firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one side of the duplex. The other apartment unit had some smoke and water damage. Lt. Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division estimated the dollar loss at $30,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
