During the past few years, I've made frequent trips to hospitals, doctors' offices, medical testing labs, rehab facilities, and just about everything else related to health care.
Those visits have included serious illnesses involving my parents to the everyday procedures, occasional surgeries and "scares" that occur when you have a family.
Every medical worker we have encountered, from nurses to anesthesiologists to doctors to EMTs, therapists and others, has been outstanding.
They love what they do, and they do it so well. My wife and I have been so impressed by their work ethic and their enthusiasm. Going to the doctor, or being in a hospital or ambulance can be traumatic at times. But it's made a lot easier when you're greeted with a smile, treated with warmth and made to feel at home.
Most of outside the medical profession would never trade jobs with them. We would not want to do some of the unpleasant and difficult tasks they must perform every day.
I appreciate the opportunity to let our medical workers know how much I admire them. I hope you'll do the same.
