Mission of Go!Fest is to encourage young people with disabilities and their families to explore the available services, resources and opportunities that would enable individuals to realize their maximum potential in setting and achieving lifetime goals and personal success in every area of life.

The mission of the Go!Fest ArtExpo is to create access to a broad array of arts experiences, nurture the development and understanding of diverse art forms and cultures, and encourage artists with disabilities. Go!Fest is a one-day outdoor celebration of abilities rather than disabilities. The primary art focus of the event is juried exhibitions of all types of art.

Go!Fest will consider applications from artists working in diverse media. Each application will be made within one of the media categories defined below. The principal objective of Go!Fest is to present a balanced show that will equitably showcase works of fine art and photography as well as diversity among media.

Ceramics: All original clay and porcelain work, other than jewelry, is accepted in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each piece must be signed.

Digital Art: This category includes any original work for which the artist, using a computer, executed the original image or the manipulation of other source material. Work in this category must be in limited editions, signed and numbered on archival quality materials. Traditional photographs taken through a digital media should apply in the photography category.

Drawing: Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush are to be entered in this category.

Glass: No forms of mass production are permitted.

Graphics and Printmaking: Printed works for which the artist's hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition may be entered in this category. All photogravure, photocopy, and/or offset reproductions will be rejected. Printmakers are required to disclose both their creative and printmaking processes.

Metal works: Includes all non-sculptural, non-jewelry works crafted from metals. No production studio work is allowed.

Mixed Media: This category includes works, both 2 and 3-dimensional, that incorporate more than one type of physical material to produce. Includes non-sculptural work as determined by the artist.

Painting: Works created in oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc. are in this category. Reproductions of all kinds are prohibited.

Photography: Photographic prints made from the artist's original image, which have been processed by that artist, or under his or her direct supervision, are included in this category. Photographers are required to disclose both their creative and printing processes on prints, which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition.

Sculpture: Three-dimensional original work done in any medium, including built up works in wood are included in this category.

Wood: Original works in wood that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved are accepted in the wood category.

Application Process:

Artists must submit separate applications, unless applying as a team. We will be managing our application process through e-mail at mcd@mail.chattanooga.gov

Artists who wish to exhibit work produced in more than one media category must apply with separate applications, set of digital images, and jury fee for each category. Only one application may be submitted per body of work represented. Multiple applications must represent either work in different media categories or distinctly separate bodies of work within one category. No advantage is gained by submitting multiple applications for the same body of work in multiple categories.

Digital Images:? Up to four (4) images can to be submitted for each individual media category entered by the artist. Four (4) images, numbered respectively #1 - #4, must be of individual pieces of work. Images must be in 1920 pixel horizontal x 1920 pixel and in a JPEG format,? Images must accurately represent the body of the artist's work to be exhibited at Go!Fest.

Rules of the Show:
1. All work must be original work. The artist guarantees the accuracy of the description of the works presented and the authenticity of the work as the creation of their own hands.
2. Work done by a production studio is not acceptable. All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist.
3. No more than two artists may collaborate on work.
4.Both must be included on and sign the application. ?Both must be present at Go!Fest.
5. Artists may only show work in categories and body of work selected by the Jury. All work exhibited must be of the quality, category and body of work of that shown in the images juried.

Jury Procedure: The panel reviews images in a blind jury process. The identities of artists are not disclosed to jurors. The jury is comprised of working artists and other professionals. The jury will view each artist's set of four images. The artist?s information statements attached to the images and application will also be made available to the jury. Artistic excellence is the sole criteria for selection of exhibitors. The selected artists will receive invitations to attend the festival. Decisions of the jury panel are final.

Sales: Artists will retain all revenue from the sale of their work. No commission will be paid to Go!Fest on any sales. Artists will be responsible for collecting and reporting all required Tennessee State sales taxes.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
