Southern Adventist University Celebrates 13th Consecutive Year Of Continuous Growth

Thursday, September 18, 2008

For the ninth consecutive year, Southern Adventist University’s enrollment numbers increased at fall registration. Southern opened its doors to 2,777 students for the 2008-2009 academic year—137 students more than Fall, 2007. This marks Southern’s 13th successive year of continuous growth.

Southern’s uninterrupted growth can be seen not only in increased enrollment but also in the expanding of its campus facilities including the new Hulsey Wellness Center, scheduled to open in October and Florida Hospital Hall, the new nursing building that will accommodate Southern’s quickly expanding nursing program.

“Thanks to some very generous friends and supporters, we are now able to offer these new facilities to our students,” said Vinita Sauder, vice president for Marketing and Enrollment services.

This year, undergraduate enrollment is up by 97 and graduate enrollment is up by 40 students. In addition to total headcount, increasing the number of full-time equivalents is up 69 overall.

“Enrollment has increased over the past decade by more than 1,000 students, allowing the university to expand its curriculum, its facilities, and its faculty and staff,” said Ms. Sauder. “Students are choosing Southern because of our high quality living-learning environment.”

Southern is a graduate and undergraduate co-educational university with seven graduate degrees, 57 baccalaureate degrees, 16 associate degrees, and one certificate program.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
