City's EAC Launches i-Vote Campaign

Thursday, September 25, 2008

The city of Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture in partnership with the Hamilton County Democratic Party, the Hamilton County Republican Party, SEIU, Best Buy, and Chattanooga Teen Scene is launching an i-Vote television advertisement campaign to encourage eligible teens to register and vote in the 2008 Presidential election.

Filming for the first ad spot will take place at Memorial Auditorium this afternoon. Mayor Ron Littlefield will be joined by local party representatives to encourage teens to get involved in the i-Vote campaign and to register and vote in this year's election, officials said.

A second filming will take place in two weeks with local teens joining the advertisement campaign to encourage their peers to register and vote.

Teens registering by Oct. 6 can bring their slips to EAC for an opportunity to star in the ad spot and win one of four mp3 players to be given away, courtesy of Best Buy on Gunbarrel Road.

Both spots will be airing through the month of October and leading up to the Nov. 4 election day.

"We're looking forward to taking the message of citizen responsibility and empowerment to young people across the city in schools and recreation centers," said EAC Administrator Missy Crutchfield. "We want to involve teens in creating messages that encourage their peers to get involved in the political process. This is a campaign that will ripple across the country as we pull together the local We Vote campaign, Rock the Vote and i-Vote here in Chattanooga."

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
