Local Student Is On Capitol Hill For CTE Goes Green On Tuesday

The Association for Career and Technical Education will have an event on Capitol Hill called, "CTE Goes Green" on Tuesday. During the event, students from around the country will be displaying different projects relating to the sustainability issue.

One student is Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National President Joseph Riley, a student at McMinn Central High School located in Englewood, Tn. He is going to be explaining the different green projects around the nation in their green efforts.

FBLA will also launch a new contest to recognize the top chapter from each of the five regions for the most innovative "Go Green" projects. The winners will be announced during their First Regional Meeting of National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Ca. next summer.

The winners of each chapter will participate in a panel discussion "Go Green" workshop at the National Leadership Conference. Mr. Riley will be presenting this information with members of Congress at the event.


Larry Johnson Named Dalton State Business School Dean; Other Faculty Promoted

City Council Ad Hoc Committee To Study Moving Elections To August, Adding More Districts, Staggering Terms

City Council Vice Chairman Chip Henderson said Tuesday he will lead an ad hoc committee that will look into possibly increasing the number of council districts from the current term.
