BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For one half Friday night, McCallie’s Blue Tornado put up quite a show against former coach Ralph Potter, now the head man at Brentwood Academy.
Patton Watkins kicked a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter as McCallie (1-2) took a 3-0 lead over Potter and Brentwood Academy (2-1).
Potter’s team then rolled up 17 straight points and secured the victory, 17-3.
Joey Skogen led McCalie with 13 rushes for 47 yards and John Brock had six carries for 41 yards.
Keenon Rush was 2 of 7 for 14 yards passing.
James Cupo had an interception for the Blue Tornado.
McCallie plays host to Charlotte Country School next Saturday, Sept. 13. The Tornado then will play host to Father Ryan and Ensworth before battling rival Baylor at Finley Stadium on Oct. 3.
