Live Auction Offers Valentine’s Gift And Supports Junior Achievement

Hamilton Place and the Brainerd/East Brainerd Council of Chamber of Commerce will host the 7th annual “Bid on the Future” live auction to benefit Junior Achievement on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. in center court at Hamilton Place Mall.

Over the past six years, this event has grown from a small auction featuring only birdhouses to an event with a variety of Valentine’s Day gifts. The event raised more than $32,000 last year for the K-12 programs which allowed more than 1,280 students to experience the Junior Achievement program in their local classroom.

Featured items this year include a 42” Sylvania LCD Digital Flat Screen TV, two Continental Airline tickets to anywhere in the US, Canada & Mexico (except Hawaii), Nashville Predator NHL tickets, jewelry, Lenovo laptop computer, spa packages, eight hours of professional interior design, sports memorabilia, two night stay at Staybridge Suites in Charlotte, N.C. and a Coach purse just to name a few. The live auction will feature 50+ items.

Bidders can start their bidding now by visiting the online auction at www.bidonthefuture.com. The online auction will close on Jan. 30. The on-line items will be auctioned live on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.

Lookout Valley, Tn. recorded the first tornado on what would become a historic 2-day tornado outbreak, at 7:55am on April 27, 2011. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. The leak reportedly occurred shortly before 5 a.m. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with several fire companies, and the haz-mat team. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times. Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
