Due to the flood event of last week, Camp Jordan Park in the city of East Ridge will remain closed until further notice. A tremendous amount of flood waters encompassed the Park.
City staff is currently spreading lime on park grounds to prevent health hazards for park users. The lime will disinfect the grounds that could have been polluted by sewage, gasoline or other hazardous materials.
City Manager William Whitson said “City staff is currently doing all we can with our existing resources to repair damage that occurred at Camp Jordan.
We are also taking precautions to protect public health by spreading lime so that the health of our Park visitors will not be at risk.”
Citiy Manager Whitson also added, “If there are no extended periods of rain, we are hopeful the Park will re-open by Tuesday or Wednesday.”
The Alhambra Shrine Circus will perform as scheduled at Camp Jordan Arena on Oct. 8-11. For further information, contact the Camp Jordan Park Office at 490-0078 or visit www.eastridgetn.org.
