Supporting Pediatric Care

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Having worked in pediatric critical care for many years, we wanted to recognize the Tennessee Emergency Medical Services for Children. (TN-EMSC)

The TN-EMSC provides educational activities and emergency preparedness training for pediatric providers in the state of Tennessee and its bordering counties. Tireless work from volunteers from all walks of life promotes the use of helmets, seat belts, car seats and the safe operation of ATVs, making the TN-EMSC a strong advocate for acute care for our badly injured and critically ill children.

Our community has the opportunity to support the TN-EMSC and T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital OutReach Education. The 8th Annual Update in Acute and Emergency Care Pediatrics Conference is Friday, Oct. 23 and 24. On Friday evening, T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital Outreach Education will be hosting a fundraiser, Chattanooga Looks Out for Kids, Mask-R-Aid, an adult evening of entertainment at the Bessie Smith Hall at 7 p.m. Please support this most worthwhile organization and T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital Education by attending the event and/or making a monetary donation.

Most importantly keep your children safe by using seat belts, bicycle helmets and keeping children off of ATVs.

Rep. Graves: Planes, Taxes And Bureaucrats

It’s the classic saga: good versus evil. The latest playbill from Washington has the airlines as the villain, the taxpayers as the victim and, yes you guessed it, the federal government starring as the hero.  And, as with all good thrillers, there’s a twist. Just last week, the hero raced to the “rescue.”  However, while valiantly standing in defense of the “victims,” ... (click for more)
