Monday morning... 4:30 am... deep in Upper Cumberland Mountains four men and one woman will set off into the wilderness, each wondering if he, or she, will be the first to make hunting history.
Monday morning marks the first elk hunt in in Tennessee in 134 years. It was 1865 when the last wild, free ranging elk was killed. Now marks another wildlife success story as the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has brought wild elk back into the state in huntable numbers. The Upper Cumberland Wildlife Management Area is northwest of Knoxville near LaFollete, Tenn.
