Ooltewah Family Gets New Home Extreme Home Makeover Style

The Samaritan Center is partnering with nine other agencies to help a local elderly woman who is raising her grandkids and her great-grandkids get a new home. They have been through a long process to clean up their property and demolish their dilapidated home.

Their new home will be revealed to them “Extreme Home Makeover” style with the Samaritan Center truck blocking their view until it moves forward to reveal their new home when they shout, “Move that truck!”

The reveal will be at 11 a.

m. on Monday, Oct. 26, at 3945 Arthur Lane off of Bill Reed Road in Ooltewah.

Partnering agencies include the Samaritan Center, Tennessee Housing Development Agency Emergency Repair Program for the Elderly, Relative Caregivers, Ooltewah United Methodist Church, City Disposal, Chattanooga Pest Control, Chattanooga State Ahead Program, Curtis Cordwell’s Volunteer Crew, Alive in You Catholic Youth Volunteers and Southern Adventist University Film Club Volunteers.

County Approves Tax Abatement For Apartment Project At Chattanooga Bank Building

The County Commission on Wednesday approved a tax abatement for an apartment project at the Chattanooga Bank Building downtown. Officials said a tax relief program was in place earlier, but it had lapsed. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. The leak reportedly occurred shortly before 5 a.m. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with several fire companies, and the haz-mat team. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
