Senior Neighbors Offers Day And Overnight Trips For Seniors

Senior Neighbors, an Alexian Brothers ministry, will offer day and overnight trips for seniors.

Senior Neighbors will host a trip on Monday, Nov. 23, to see the world’s largest animated light extravaganza in Lake Lanier, Ga. Experience over six miles of twinkling, Christmas light displays and a live nativity scene, complete with live actors and animals.

Cost is $40 and includes entrance to the light show, buffet meal and charter bus transportation. R.S.V.P. deadline is Nov. 3.

The second trip will be Dec. 6-8, traveling to Nashville to shop at Opry Mills, see the Louise Mandrell Christmas show and have dinner at the Rain Forest restaurant. After staying the night in Nashville, you will travel to Metropolis, Il., for a one-night stay at Harrah's Casino, complete with a buffet dinner at the casino. Cost is $299 for a single occupancy room, $223 for a double, $197 for triple and $185 for quadruple occupancy. R.S.V.P. deadline is Nov. 20.

Senior Neighbors will experience Alaska by land, air and sea Aug. 28-Sept. 7. Spend 11 days and ten nights marveling at the beauty of Alaska from the luxurious Princess Cruise Lines. Rates start at $2,863 and include cruise, roundtrip airfare from Atlanta, train fare, port charges, fees and taxes. Passport is required. Book with a $550 deposit.

Pickup Truck Crosses To Wrong Side Of Hixson Pike: Other Driver Killed

A pickup truck went across Hixson Pike into the opposing lane of traffic on Saturday afternoon, then struck another vehicle. The driver of that car was killed. Signs Vandalized At Cummings Cove As Battle With OHV Owners Continues

Two large advertising signs at the Cummings Cove development in Lookout Valley were vandalized Friday. One sign was spray painted with an expletive and another had the word "Aetna" in large letters.  There has been a long-running dispute between owners of Cummings Cove and those who enjoy going up the old Aetna Mountain Road to ride off-highway vehicles.
