The next session of LAUNCH, a monthly program geared to individuals interested in discussing local issues with informed discussion leaders, will be on Thursday, Nov. 12, at noon. County Mayor Claude Ramsey will be the informed guest at the November session.

In his fourth term as mayor, Mr. Ramsey plays a pivotal role in the economic progress of this community. As a manager and leader, Mr. Ramsey’s career is distinguished by his openness and availability to both the business community and public at large. He has been honored with numerous awards and offices that reflect his dedication to the highest standards of conduct.

As a fiscal conservative, Mr. Ramsey encourages progress in the community through responsible investment in the growth of business and industry. His achievements include securing over $2.8 million in grant funds for expansion of local industries. These funds helped leverage over $264 million in private investments and helped create over 2,000 new jobs.

Mayor Ramsey was a driving force for the transfer of the 1200-acre Enterprise South Industrial Park property from the U.S. Army. When operational, the park will generate over 8,000 new jobs with a payroll exceeding $240 million a year.

The LAUNCH discussion will focus on current challenges and a review of Hamilton County’s progress over the last few years.

The cost for LAUNCH is $6, and space is limited. R.S.V.P by Nov. 9 to Ann Treadwell, 493-0270, ext. 13 or atreadwell@jcfgc.com.

The Jewish Cultural Center is a program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga. Located at 5461 North Terrace, the Center and its programs are open to everyone regardless of religious affiliation.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
