Four people were charged with possession of schedule I drugs for resale, possession of marijuana for resale and felony possession of drug paraphernalia in Bradley County on Wednesday.
Drug Enforcement Unit detectives conducting interdiction on I-75 Wednesday afternoon observed a 2002 Mercedes with Georgia registration following dangerously close to a tractor trailer truck as they proceeded north on I-75, authorities said.
The detectives performed a traffic stop, and on initial contact with the driver they detected the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the car.
The vehicle occupants gave consent to search the car, and detectives found a number of baggies containing marijuana and one baggie with a white powder that field tested as ecstasy.
Those charged are Depal Arun Patel, 26; Chrysae Renae Robinson, 23, both of Lithia Springs, Ga.; Michael Lee Gray, 25, and Leigh Ashley Baldwin, 21, both of Winston, Ga.
Patel is also charged with following too close.
They are due in court on Tuesday.
