BlueCross Joins Local Law Firm In Presenting Workshop To Brainerd Students

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, together with local law firm Chambliss, Bahner and Stophel, will host a workshop for the students of the Criminal Justice Career Track at Brainerd High School. The event will be held at BlueCross’ headquarters on Cameron Hill Thursday, Nov. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Brainerd High School students will get the chance to work alongside local attorneys and other legal professionals in mock court case scenarios as part of the Law Firm Diversity Pipeline Program.

The workshop is the conclusion of an educational series designed by the nonprofit organization Street Law, Inc., which is designed to encourage diversity in the legal profession. The group provides education about law and democracy throughout the United States as well as in over 40 countries worldwide.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
