A tip led sheriff's investigators to arrest a Signal Mountain man in connection with a number of car burglaries at Lakesite.

The anonymous tip came after the airing of surveillance video obtained from the Soddy Daisy Pawn shop.

The sheriff's office said numerous cars were burglarized in Lakesite on Oct. 23. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigations division, along with the patrol division, had pursued numerous leads. On Thursday, detectives received a break in the case as a result of the pawn shop video.

While detectives followed up on this lead, information linking Jimmie Dean Roy to vehicle burglaries was established. Roy was arrested on Friday at 7905 Mill Creek Road, Signal Mountain.

Upon searching the residence, numerous suspected stolen items were seized. Items included a handgun, golf clubs and electronic devices. Also found were marijuana and pills.

The vehicle Roy was arrested in was confirmed stolen from Red Bank.

The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated.

Detective Stephen Burnette is in charge of the investigation.
