Harvey T. Booher, 85, of Cleveland, died on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, in a Cleveland health care facility.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He was employed in customer service with Maytag for over 30 years and was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Rev. Booher served as a Baptist minister for 59 years pastoring churches in Tennessee, Arizona, Texas, California and Hawaii. He was a moderator for the Bradley County Baptist Association and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Austin; and his wife, Nina Grace Booher in 2007.
He is survived by his two sons, James H. Booher and wife Elaine, and Paul E. Booher and wife Michele, all of Cleveland; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Traugotte of Knoxville and Reva Edis of Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Tony McClanahan and Reverend Bill Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with James Booher, Paul Booher, Richard Booher, Jimmy Booher, Will Booher and Artemio Lopez serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday,Nov. 16, at the funeral home.
