Milburn Albert Teems, 85, of Lyerly, Ga., died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Teems was born July 19, 1924 in Chattooga County, Ga., the son of the late Robert "Bob" Teems and Mattie Brown Teems. He was a self-employed plumber and a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marines.
Mr. Teems was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hunnicutt Teems; and sisters, Lillie May Booker and Irene Booker.
Mr. Teems is survived by six daughters, Linda Lawson, Charlotte Flood, Wanda Styles, Dorothy Thompson, Jackie Sammons, and Debra McCary; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Summerville Cemetery with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Thomas Flood, Jr, Wendell Flood, Jamey Hunnicutt, Johnny Hunnicutt, Chuck Thompson, and Chad Thompson.
Mr. Teems will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16.
