That's the most valuable commodity Lovell Field can offer weary travelers during the upcoming hectic travel season, Chattanooga Airport Authority members said Monday.
Passengers who fly in and out of Chattanooga rather than choosing a larger airport will be repaid by how much easier it becomes to fly, officials said during the board's regular meeting.
Airport employees already are bracing for the expected crowds, officials said.
In other action, officials announced that TriStar of America, headquartered in Norcross, GA, has been selected to demolish the former Target store building owned by the airport.
TriStar bid $120,000 to demolish the buyilding itself, and another $83,600 to remove the concrete slab on the property.
Officials said the TriStar is a "stand-alone company" that will do all the work itself, rather than bringing in subcontractors.
The firm has done thousands of demolitions for Walmart and other clients, officials noted, and is well qualified to do the work here,
