East Ridge Holds Annual Christmas Parade Nov. 21

Monday, November 16, 2009

The City of East Ridge will hold its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m. The parade, which features Santa in a fire truck, will run from Germantown Road to Tombras Avenue. The reviewing stand in front of Little Caesar’s Pizza will commentate on the nearly 80 entries in this year’s parade with guest emcee David Karnes from WRCB’s weather team.

“The East Ridge parade helps us all kick off the holiday season by gathering together with our neighbors and showing support to our local organizations,” said East Ridge Mayor Mike Steele. “We invite all citizens to come out and celebrate this special event with us.”

The area will be decorated with lights and holiday décor, and local groups such as the Kiwanis Club will be selling hot chocolate and other goodies. The East Ridge Needy Child Fund will sell drinks in front of the Fire/Police Service Center.

For further information, please contact Amanda Miller, administrative assistant, at 423 490-0078.

Ringgold Road will shut down at 6 p.m. from Donaldson Road to Moore Road. Germantown Road will be closed to all southbound traffic (except vehicles in the parade) beginning at 4 p.m. Only one northbound lane of Germantown will be open for traffic and for dropping off participants in the parade.
