Bonnie Kate Parris Ball, 95, of Eton, Ga., died on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 in a local hospital.
Born Oct. 25, 1914, Bonnie was one of eleven children in the John (Joseph and Ida Shope) Parris household. She retired from Valley View School. She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Alvin James Ball; parents, John Parris and Ida Shope; children, J.P. Ball, John Wesley Ball, Deloris Ball, Brenda Ball Moats, Betty Rogers Bain, Billy Ball, an infant son and Marlene Ball.
Survivors include two sons, Lynn Bruce (L.B.) and Jimmy Ball and their families; one brother, Preston Parris; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Services will be Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. from the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Benny Watson and Reverend Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel who has charge of arrangements.
