Samuel Lee Kemp, 50, of Dalton, Ga. and formerly of Chatsworth, Ga., died on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.
He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and an ordained Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willie Kemp, Sr.; brother, Willie Kemp, Jr.; and grandparents, Mr. Ernest Levi Ramsey, Sr. and Mrs. Carrie Moore Ramsey.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Leacha Pinson Kemp; step-children, Reginald Quintin Williams, Lindsay Williams, and Alexander Williams of Dalton; mother, Mrs. Kate Lynn Kemp of Chatsworth; three sisters, Mrs. Karen Kemp (Eddie) Gregory, Mrs. Ernestine (Donald) Sumlin, and Mrs. Annette Folk; brothers, Mr. Daniel (Yvette) Kemp, Mr. James (Stetsa) Kemp, and Mr. Randy (Stephanie) Kemp; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. Robert (Mary) Brown; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth, located 121 West Market Street, with Rev. W.B. White, Rev. Tony Patterson, and other ministers officiating.
Family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. Interment will take place in West Hill Cemetery.
