Mason Swan Takes Massive ''Broccoli'' Buck

Monday, November 02, 2009

Not to be out done by his older brother Parker Swan, 11, who scored heavily last week in Canada, younger brother Mason, 7, took a non-typical monster buck, dubbed Broccoli, at Dunaway Hunting and Fishing Club. The huge deer weighed 225.

The name "Broccoli, was given to this buck by club members who had seen the deer in trailcam photos.

His Dad, Bill Swan, said Mason missed an opportunity at a 9-pointer earlier when buck fever shook the shooting house so badly the deer spooked.

Bill said later, when Broccoli walked to the edge of the field, Mason made a perfect 100-yard shot with his .243 rifle.

Parker, who was hunting with his grandfather, harvested a nice doe with one shot at 75 yards through the woods. It was a great evening on the youth hunt weekend for the two youngsters!

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
