Banking Veterans Linda Mosley, Jim Pemberton Join Cornerstone Community Bank

Cornerstone Community Bank announced the appointments of two long-time Tennessee banking professionals - Linda Mosley as vice president and relationship manager, and Jim Pemberton as special assets officer.

Ms. Mosley has been in the banking business in Chattanooga since 1972, and earned her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2002. She is a native of Cleveland, Tn., and is a graduate of UTC with a BS degree in elementary education.

Her current civic involvement includes serving as a Hamilton County School Board representative for District 7, chairwoman of WTCI TV Public Television and board positions with Blood Assurance and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga.

In addition, Ms. Mosley is a member of the Downtown Rotary, chair of the Youth Exchange Committee, and a member of the East Hamilton Ruritan Club. She and her husband have one son and reside in Ooltewah.

Another Tennessee native, Mr. Pemberton began his career in 1985 as an internal auditor with a national bank in Rockwood. He later joined other national and regional banks in management positions, serving markets including Knoxville, Jackson and, most recently, Cleveland, Tn.

A graduate of the Tennessee School of Banking in Nashville, Mr. Pemberton holds a BA degree in finance and a graduate degree in banking operations. Over the years, he has been involved in the Chamber, Rotary Club, United Way, and is a former AAU Boys Basketball coach. He and his wife and two children reside in Cleveland.

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
