The Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Symphonic Band will be hosting the first in a series of exchange concerts this fall between CSAS and Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School in Nashville.
Both the CSAS Symphonic Band and the Hume-Fogg Wind Ensemble will perform separate programs, then perform as a combined ensemble for the finale.
The repertoire will include works by Holsinger, King, Margolis, Mussorgsky, and Sheldon, among others, as well as a guest performance by soloist Gary Youngberg on bagpipes.
In addition to this concert, the CSAS Symphonic Band will be traveling to Nashville on Friday, Nov. 20, to perform a similar concert at Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School.
The CSAS concert is Friday, at 7 p.m., in Creed Bates Auditorium, Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, 865 East Third Street.
Admission is free, and the concert is open to the public.
