Hopson Leads Hot-Shooting Vols Past East Carolina, 105-66

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands - Scotty Hopson poured in 25 points here Friday and led No. 10-ranked Tennesee past East Carolina, 105-66, in the opening round of the Paradise Jam.

Tennessee (3-0) will play DePaul (2-0) in the second round on Sunday. The Blue Demons beat Northern Iowa, 60-52, in the first round.

Bobby Maze added 15 points for the Vols, while Cameron Tatum had 14 and Tyler Smith scored 13.

Tennessee used its full-court press and forced 35 turnovers, the most ever by a Bruce Pearl-coached Volunteer team.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

A leak of anhydrous ammonia at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway forced the closure of main thoroughfares Tuesday morning, causing major problems for rush-hour traffic heading into Chattanooga.  The incident began around 4:30 a.m. at the plant when a small fire broke out at an anhydrous ammonia pump. I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
