Erma Ruth Callahan Johnson, 79, died on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at a local hospital.
A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was of the Church of God faith. Erma was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. Johnson Jr.; parents, Charles and Eunice Callahan; three sisters, Evelyn Strickland, Margie Tollet and Phyllis Shutters; and two brothers, Charles and Joe Callahan.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Johnson, of Fort Oglethorpe, and Gary Johnson, of Ringgold; three daughters, Glenda Faye Wright, of Ringgold, Diane Tate, of Rossville, and Wanda Diane Cabe, of Chattanooga; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Pat Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time on Monday at the funeral home.
