Construction crews set off blasts on Monday to dislodge several boulders teetering above the major rock slide on Highway 64 in Polk County, the boulders, including one as large as 25 feet in diameter were knocked down onto the roadway that is already packed with debris from two previous rock slides.
Workers are trying to stabilize the area above the rock slide before starting the removal process.
The workers will take off on Thanksgiving Day then resume on Friday if the weather allows.
