The East Ridge Revitalization Program Exit One Committee is committed to improving the Gateway to Tennessee: Exit One. Volunteers will be planting daffodil bulbs, pansies and daylilies on Ringgold Road at the bridge at I-75 on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.
Members of East Ridge Revitalization Program, the Energize East Ridge Committee and the Crestwood Garden Club will be joining the Exit One committee members in planting the flowers. Any citizen who wishes to volunteer or donate daylilies may contact the East Ridge Revitalization Program office at 423 622-1111, or Ms. Reed at 423 991-0452.
Parking will be available for volunteers at the old Bob Evans building next to the Life Care Center.
“Exit one is a point of pride for those of us who live in East Ridge,” said Donna Reed, a member of the Exit One Committee and coordinator of the planting event. “This area is the first thing that many travelers see of our city, and we want to make a good first impression. Our beautification project has been a great success so far, and we plan to continue that momentum to reach our goals for the city.”
The city of East Ridge will provide assistance and a safe area for volunteers.
In the event of rain, planting will be rescheduled for the following Saturday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m.
