Two Chattanooga men were shot at the after hours club Steppin' Out on Shallowford Road early Thursday morning. William Harris, 25, was shot in the left calf while leaving the club. Wiltha Brown, 28, was shot in the right calf.
Chattanooga police were dispatched to Erlanger Hospital at around 4:36 a.m. to examine Mr. Harris. He had arrived at the hospital by personal vehicle with a gunshot wound to his left calf. He stated to officers that he had been at the club Steppin’ Out on Shallowford Road when a fight broke out inside the club at about 3:20 a.
m. As he exited the club, he was shot in the leg by an unknown suspect.
The second call of a person shot came in to 911 at around 6:50 a.m. from 4436 Dorris Street. When police spoke with Mr. Brown, the victim, he initially stated he had been shot somewhere on Dyer Street. He eventually said he had also been at Steppin' Out. Mr. Brown was transported to Erlanger Hospital by EMS for treatment. He stated that a fight broke out inside the club. He stated that he did not see who shot him and did not see anyone with a gun.
