Ralph Edward Jones Sr., 79, of Hixson, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at his home.

Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was employed with Plumbers and Steamfitters local #43 for 55 years and was a Steamfitter Apprentice Instructor at Sequoyah Nuclear plant for several years. He was a mechanical building inspector for the city of Chattanooga for several years prior to his retirement.

He was a man who enjoyed a good joke, especially when he was the instigator of it.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jones; parents, Sam and Annie Jones; grandson, Spencer Wells Jones.

Survivors include his sons, Terry (Kathy) Jones, and Eddie Jones; daughters, Leslie (Brian) Scoggins and Connie (Alan) Jones; grandchildren, Lorin Jones, Laura Jones, and Laura Allison Brown; sisters, Betty Jolly, and Caroline (Fernando) Ochoa, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the North Chapel. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the North Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence.
