James Pickett

James R.B. Pickett, 85, of Whitwell, died on Monday, November 2, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Alma Harris Pickett; parents, George and Lorraine Fulton Pickett; brothers, O.D. Pickett, Othopolis Pickett, Garfield Pickett, Paul Arrow Pickett; sister, Amy Lee Beene, Mildred Sims, Wilma Ware, Anita Pickett, Jessie Toomey.

Mr. Pickett was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, retired from Tennessee American Water Company and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include children, James Issac (Carol) Sutton, of Chattanooga, George W. (Ernestine) Pickett, Samuel Lee (Ramona) Pickett, Anna F. Roberts of Whitwell, Emma R. Gott of Chattanooga; four devoted nephews, James Harris of Whitwell, William Oscar Pickett, William Pickett of Jasper, George Byron Pickett of Detroit, Mi.; sisters, Hazel Solomon, Helen Ford of Chattanooga, Shirley Ann Mitchell of Richard City; brothers, George W. Pickett of Whitwell, Harold Franklin Pickett, Billy G. Pickett of Victoria, Curtis Toomey of Philadelphia, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, Anna Sutton, Paul Gott III, Steven (Lindy) Robinson, Shawn Roberts, James (Deana) Pickett, Rebecca (Napoleon) Clark, Michelle Pickett, Samuel Pickett Jr., Chris Roberts, Christie Roberts, Keshia Sutton, Mae Pickett, Ashley Pickett, Katie Walker; 15 great-grandchildren.

His family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. CST, on Friday, Nov. 6.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. CST, on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Steve Lusk and Brother Richard Sain officiating. Interment at McWilliams Cemetery in Victoria.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups
