Physician Larry E. Perry Has His License Suspended

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

The Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the license of Larry E. Perry, MD. The suspension of Dr. Perry's license was effective Tuesday.

As a result of the summary suspension, Dr. Perry is immediately prohibited from practicing medicine in the state.

Dr. Perry's license was suspended for the following: having sex and inappropriate contact with patients; prescribing controlled substances to a patient in exchange for a sex act; and conduct that is detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the public.

Dr. Perry has the opportunity to appear at an informal hearing on this matter before the Board of Medical Examiners, scheduled for Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. CT. At that hearing, the board will determine whether the public health, safety or welfare imperatively required emergency action and whether Dr. Perry's license should remain suspended pending the outcome of a contested case proceeding in the matter.

The meeting will be canceled if Dr. Perry declines participation.

Dr. Perry was originally licensed to practice medicine in Tennessee in 1991. Addresses provided to the board for Dr. Perry include Oneida, Tn., and Whitley City, Ky.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations is looking into the matter and is asking anyone who may have more information to call 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463) with details.

Detailed information about disciplinary actions is available on the TDOH Web site at http://health.state.tn.us/licensure/index.htm. Enter the name of the person of interest. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
