Thursday, November 05, 2009 - by special report to The Chattanoogan

KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee place-kicker Daniel Lincoln and center Cody Sullins were named Thursday to the Academic All-District 4 second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Lincoln made the District 4 first team two years ago when he connected on 21-of-29 field goals and earned All-America recognition on the field from the Football Writers Association of America. The enterprise management and international business major is a two-time Academic All-SEC honoree sporting a 3.30 grade-point average.

Only a junior in eligibility, Lincoln already owns 40 made field goals to rank sixth all-time at Tennessee. The Ocala, Fla., native completes his undergraduate degree this December.

Sullins finished his finance undergraduate degree in December 2008, sporting a 3.58 GPA. He now owns a 4.0 GPA in graduate communication studies while enjoying the best playing season of his Tennessee career.

A native of Cottontown in Middle Tennessee, Sullins has started and anchored all eight games for the Vols at center, including the last five alongside his twin brother, Cory, playing at guard. The senior entered this year with only five previous game appearances and no starts.

During his time at UT, Sullins has been named three times to the Academic All-SEC squad. He is on course to complete his graduate degree in the spring.
