WTCI-TV Named Business Of The Month By Gateway Chamber

Thursday, November 05, 2009

WTCI-TV was named the November 2009 Business of the Month by the Enterprise Gateway Council of the Greater Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. According to the council, WTCI was recognized as an organization that is committed to strong community partnerships and inspiring the region with smart, informative and educational programming.

“With their countless volunteers and the continued financial support of their donors, we believe that our community supports WTCI as much as WTCI supports the community," said Thomas Rusk, president of the council. "We chose to recognize WTCI as the Enterprise Gateway Council’s Business of the Month because we are proud to have a company so sincere in its mission and dedication to our community.

WTCI President and CEO, Paul Grove, accepted the award on behalf of WTCI. “We are committed to helping our community know more, do more and ultimately Be more. WTCI is honored to receive recognition for our programming as well as what we do to take our mission beyond the television screen every day."

WTCI regularly partners with other nonprofits and businesses in the community on education, outreach and production projects that educate, engage and inspire a lifetime of learning and exploration. Recent partnerships have supported the production of documentaries focused on the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, and the important Native American history of our region. Through grant support from the Benwood and Community Foundations, WTCI has also distributed more than 15,000 books to children and families to support early literacy development in the community.
