Virginia Osborne “Jenny” Brown, 85, of East Ridge, died on Thursday, November 5, 2009, in Kennesaw, Ga., where she had lived the past six months.

She was a native of Hartwell, Ga., and had lived most of her life in East Ridge. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Rossville where she had served as secretary and children’s Sunday school teacher.

She was also a member of the Bridge Builders Senior Group, the Woman’s Missionary Union, and the Chattanooga Senior Citizen Group.

Mrs. Brown was a bookkeeper by trade working for a pant company during World War II in Toccoa, Ga., as well as a bookkeeper with an insurance company in Washington, D.C., and Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Annie Osborne; sisters, Tommy Canup, Mary Crawford, and Frances Brown; and two brothers, Patrick and Walter Osborne.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Elmo H. “Buck” Brown, of East Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest, Ga.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.

Kinser, Waldo Oran (Chatsworth)

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
