Josephine Melton

Josephine Kidwell Melton, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, November 6, 2009 in a local hospital.

She served as a secretary for Doctors Brackett and Royal and she also served as a secretary at Tepper Hospital. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Dean Melton; son, Adrian Kent Cherry; sister, Martha Daube.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcelle (Robert) McLucas of Eustice, Fl.; two sons, James Gregory (Jill) Melton of Boynton, Ga., Anthony Richard (Lisa) Melton of East Ridge; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, John Richard Kidwell of Indianapolis, In.; sister, Pollie Anne Payne of Indianapolis, In.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Natalie Smartt officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Simpson United Methodist Church, 601 McFarland Avenue, Rossville, Ga. 30741.

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tn., 37412.

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. The leak reportedly occurred shortly before 5 a.m. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with several fire companies, and the haz-mat team. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
