Rachel D. Fain, 93, of Birchwood, died on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.

She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Fain; parents, David Dilbeck and Ethel Morgan Dilbeck; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by four children, James Fain and wife, Marilyn of Ooltewah, Delores Poe and husband, David of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda Fain of Georgetown and Debi Moore and husband, David of Birchwood; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Tony DeYoung officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.

Her family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at the funeral home.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

A leak of anhydrous ammonia at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway forced the closure of main thoroughfares Tuesday morning, causing major problems for rush-hour traffic heading into Chattanooga.  The incident began around 4:30 a.m. at the plant when a small fire broke out at an anhydrous ammonia pump.
