Barbara Louise Muse Shipman, age 73, of Cedar Bluff, Ala., and formerly of Dalton, Ga., died on Friday morning, Nov. 6, at the Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, Ala.

Barbara was born March 5, 1936 in Whitfield County, Ga., the last surviving child of George and Hattie Mae Camp Brock. She worked many years at the Lawtex Mills and was a member of the Full Bible Trinity Free Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Karen Muse of Calhoun, Ga., Donnie and Shelia Muse of Centre, Ala. and Tommy and Sharon Muse of Dalton; the father of her children, Hershel Muse of Dalton; six grandchildren, Erica Gonzolaz, Joey Muse, Bridgett Donaldson, Tiffany Curbow, Shannon Muse and Brandon Muse; eight great-grandchildren; her beloved Chihuahua dog, Pee Wee; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Barbara Louise Muse Shipman will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Jarrett and Reverend Jimmy Black officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the Swamp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County, Ga., with Jacky Gallman, Louis Gonzalas, Johnny Underwood, Rick Donaldson, Brent Parker and Joey Muse serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 8, from 3-9 p.m. at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups
