Samuel “Sammy” James, 53, of Rossville, died on Saturday, November 7, 2009.

A native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga and North Georgia, Sammy was a 1974 graduate of East Ridge High School and attended Chattanooga State.

Along with his wife, Vikki, they were owners and operators of Super Tan USA in the Chattanooga area for 21 years and he was the creator of Black Sun high-performance tanning lamps.

He was employed with Modern Woodmen of America as an agent for many years, was past-president of the Rossville Exchange Club, and was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and the Doberman Pincher Club. Sammy was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank James and Laura James Ford.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Victoria “Vikki” Wells James; sisters, Sue Moore of Red Bank, and Carolyn Jenkins of Chattanooga; five nephews, two nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at noon in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Calvin Wigley officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Sylvania, Al., with Mark Kernea, Jack Shotts Jr., Anthony Holland, Christopher “Lex” Tantihacha, Trey Jones, and Kevin Terrette serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 4–8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.

Kinser, Waldo Oran (Chatsworth)

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
