John Clifford Edge, 62, of East Ridge, died peacefully on the morning of Saturday, November 7, 2009.

John was born in Chattanooga to John and Louise Edge. He attended Central High School where he excelled in sports and was a leader on the football field and a friend to many.

Never one to accept the ordinary, John lived an adventurous life, living in many different states and experiencing the beauty of America. He was recently compelled to return to Chattanooga to be close to his young grandson, who was the light of his life.

John was a strong spirit who lived life according to his own terms. He was surrounded by his large and adoring family who is grieving his passing.

John was an avid fan of Tennessee Vols Football and enjoyed watching games with his son and friends. John was an All City Football player from Central High School and state wrestling champ at University of Tennessee.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Edge.

He is survived by his son, John Nicholas (Jenni) Edge; daughter, Heather Carmen (Mark) Frazer; grandson, Roman Edge Frazer, former wife, Pat Horton Edge Jarvis; sisters, Charlotte (Jay) Paty, Dee (Mickey) Hawkins, Priscilla
(Sam) Thal and Brenda Edge Binkley; and former father-in-law, William W. (Bill) Horton.

A celebration of life ceremony is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Kinser, Waldo Oran (Chatsworth)

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Waldo was born May 12, 1953 in Ellijay, Ga., a son of the late Wilbur Oran and Texxie Dotson Kinser; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Kinser; and sister, Debbie Kinser. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. The leak reportedly occurred shortly before 5 a.m. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with several fire companies, and the haz-mat team. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times.
