Bettye Greene Beaver, 93, died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at her residence.

Guy and Bettye married in 1949, moving to the Barnhart Circle to one of the old post military officer’s homes where they resided for ten years, then moved to a farm in Ringgold.

She and Guy co-owned and operated the Beaver Refrigeration and Air Co. for 40 years. She was a member of Newman Springs and Ringgold Methodist Church, where she was active in many senior group activities. In her spare time, she was an avid quilter and knitted many afghans that she gave away to various charities and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy, who passed away 20 years earlier on the same day; her parents, Albert and Maggie Greene; her sisters, Edna Long, Nell Phillips; brothers, Mack and Chevius Greene; and daughter, Dr. Mary Guy Beaver.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Jim) Cutcher, of Ringgold; sister, Charlie Steffey, of Indiana; grandchildren, Dabney and Corey Cutcher.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Wilson Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe Chapel, with Pastor John Purrington officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, and 4-8 p.m. on Monday.

Waldo Oran Kinser, 58, of Chatsworth, Ga., died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his residence. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups
