I would like to thank the friends and family of Susan Wood for waiting hours in the cold just to let us know of your love for her. Susan loved her Lord Jesus most, and showed his love to all who knew her.
Amidst the tears, there were so many stories of things she had said and done that brought a smile to our faces. How sad that someone in this world felt that he had no one to spend the night of Tuesday, Dec. 22, and selfishly and foolishly chose to drink and drive. I know Susan would be praying for him, as whenever she had trials and problems in life she would always say I'll just pray about it.
She leaves a void in our lives and the lives of her friends and co-workers that will never be filled. In the spirit of Susan and her love for all, I want to wish the people of Chattanooga - those who knew her and those who did not - to have a safe and happy New Year, and please, please, please, think of Susan Wood, her precious husband and children, before you drink and drive.
I pray that no one who reads this ever knows the tragic and senseless loss of a sister, as there are no words to explain how I feel, knowing I will never pick up the phone again to hear a "Hey Sister" or be able to text her pictures of crazy things I see while I'm at the mall, beach, or wherever.
Again, thanks so much to her friends and co-workers for your love, support, and prayers at this difficult time. For those of you who have seen Susan and I together, you know her smile will live on through mine, and I hope that some of the love and happiness that she brought to others can continue through me.
As days go on and memories fade, I promise that I will keep Susan's legacy alive.
