The Chattanooga Area Food Bank announced its 2010 Hullabowloo party, set for Jan. 16, 2010. The party will take place inside the Food Bank’s warehouse, which will be transformed into a city street scene complete with a community garden, local bistro, schoolyard, and downtown skyline.
Officials said the evening will be filled with great food, drinks and a variety of entertainment. Local chefs Rick Wright of GPS, Charlie Loomis of Greenlife, and Susan Moses of 212 Market Street will all lend their culinary talents to the menu, along with the delicious creations of Whipped Cupcakes, for guests with a sweet tooth. Beverage choices at the open bar will include wine, two types of Big River Beer and a signature Hullabowloo cocktail.
Guests will enjoy performances throughout the evening on every street corner. Scheduled performances include Signal Mountain talents Mountain Cove Boys and vocalist Kathy Tugman, as well as the Normal Park Choir, Tango Strings, Four Grand Quartet, acoustic singer/songwriter, Mike Anderson, banjo player, Matt Downer, Hip Hop Group Natural Habitz and the Beauty and the Beast cast singers.
The night’s headliner, Love, Peace and Happiness, promises to keep things lively on the dance floor.
During the party, guests will have the opportunity to help fill “kids sack packs” that the Food Bank regularly delivers to area schools for children to have food at home over the weekend, as well as create their own pottery bowl with local artist Lolly Durant.
A “Bowl Boutique” will showcase beautiful, hand-crafted bowls from regional artists for sale at the event.
Local WRCB-TV anchor Jed Mescon will be on hand as auctioneer, giving guests the opportunity to help fund various Food Bank services.
This event, in its third year, helps to raise much-needed funds for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, which feeds the community’s hungry. Tickets are $50 per person.
