Attorney Shelley Rucker has been chosen as a new Bankruptcy Court judge at Chattanooga, replacing Judge Tom Stinnett who is retiring.
Ms. Rucker was selected by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
She is a partner at the Miller and Martin law firm and a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
Other finalists were Kim Swafford of the U.S. Trustee's Office, Kent Anderson of the U.S. Attorney's Office, Jim Lane of Tullahoma, Richard Klingler of Chattanooga and Mike Fitzpatrick of Knoxville.
John Cook also serves as a bankruptcy judge in Chattanooga.
