Chattanooga State hosts Baby Steps, the 1st annual infant mortality reduction summit, Friday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. The summit is designed to bring awareness to new and expanded resources to reduce poor birth outcomes in Hamilton County.
Through the 2 year old Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative Chattanooga State has brought and/or expanded programs in the area to support women in their journey to healthy babies.
The summit will also bring to light ways locals can improve the coordination of care in our community.
Summit participants will brainstorm together and leave with action steps to carry forth in their work. Social service agencies, faith based communities and health care professionals will come together at the summit.
Veronica Gunn, MD, Chief Medical Officer with the Tennessee Department of Health will wrap up the summit..
