Crime Stoppers: Assault And Burglary At CVS Pharmacy

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

This week Crime Stoppers needs help in identifying a subject who is wanted for assault and burglary at a CVS Pharmacy at 1150 Hixson Pike on Feb. 17.

Chattanooga police were called to the CVS and talked with an employee who stated when they arrived to open the store they heard the rear door alarm sounding. The officers checked the inside of the premises and found the suspect had hidden in the ceiling in the rear of the store and attempted to steal items after the store had closed.

Officers found a shopping cart loaded with assorted items such as beer, soft drinks, aspirin, batteries and other miscellaneous items outside the store on the parking lot.

Earlier that morning around 4:30 a.m., police responded to a call to 1005 Hixson Pike at the Kangaroo. Upon arrival the clerk told police he got into a verbal disorder with a white male who was acting suspicious and was possibly going to rob him. The suspect then punched him the mouth and fled on foot south on Hixson Pike.

Investigators checked the surveillance video of the suspect inside the CVS and have determined the same suspect who burglarized the CVS is the same suspect who assaulted the store clerk at the Kangaroo earlier.

The suspect is a white male; who appears to be in his early 20s. He is wearing a red hooded sweat shirt and jeans. Police found a surveillance video of the suspect after he came into the CVS earlier that morning wearing a camouflage coat, jeans and dark toboggan.

If you know this suspect, call Crime Stoppers. Your confidential call could make you eligible for a cash reward for up to $1,000 dollars.

Call Crime Stoppers at 698-3333.
