Charles Dean captured an amazing series of photographs recently while photographing near Blythe Ferry Wildlife Management Area.
Dean said, "I observed a Bald Eagle flying way down the lake. I was near the Osprey nest site and the eagle was just above the Rt. 60. Even though it was a very long ways off, I estimate ~500 yards or close to a 1/3 of mile, I trained my camera on it and starting tracking him. He flew low to the water as if fishing and I started snapping pictures. After taking about 30 photos in 5 seconds I managed to get a series of photos of him actually catching the fish.
"Attached are a few action photos of the eagle catching the fish. Remember they were taken at a very long range but clear enough to see him succeed."
Enjoy!
